There seems to be a general consensus on the web that the Agile approach, and more specifically the Scrum framework, has been now adopted by the majority of software development projects.
However, a recent study of the Methods & Tools software development magazine published on Project Management Planet shows that a “pure” Agile approach is used by less than 40% of the respondents. A lot of companies are still mixing Agile with more traditional practices or using the Project Management Institute (PMI) vision of project management for their software development projects. There is even a small minority (13%) that don’t see the need to have a project management methodology for theirs projects.
